Visitor Information

Visitors are welcome at St George's from Monday to Friday (except Public and Bank Holidays). Saturday and Sunday's are reserved for members.  

Visitors may play having been introduced by a member, or on production of a letter of introduction from their Club Secretary to Visitors will be asked to produce evidence of a handicap of 18 or better. The Office will provide advice as needed.

On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the 1st tee is reserved for Members until 0940 and from 1300 to 1410. However, visitors may start from the 10th tee if they require earlier starting times.

Two-ball (singles or foursomes) golf is the normal format on all days except Tuesday. 

Visitors are welcome to play Three and Four-ball golf on Tuesdays starting from 0800 to 1030 (1000 during Winter Period) and then from 1330 to 1530 (not applicable during Winter Period). There will be no Three and Four-ball golf permitted in August.

All reservations must be confirmed by the Office no less than 48 hours in advance.

A full range of practice facilities are on offer before and after your round including, driving range, pitching area, practice nets and putting green.

Handicap Requirements

Handicap Certificates with a maximum of 18 for men and women, must be presented to the Caddiemaster on the day of play.


Caddies are self employed and may be requested through the Caddiemaster (01304 626931) at least a week before play.


Only wide wheeled trolleys may be used on the course - these can be hired from the Professional.  Buggies may only be hired on production of a doctor's certificate and must be booked in advance.

Kent is an ideal short break or holiday destination, and offers a wide choice of accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets, from quaint cottages, converted barns, bed and breakfasts, and conical oast houses, to chic city hotels and seaside guest houses, all of which you can find and book online at Visit Kent.


Lunch is available at the Club, either in the Dining Room or Snack Bar between 1200 and 1500 during the summer months (April to October), and between 1200 and 1430 during the winter months.

Those wishing to breakfast should give the Steward, at least 24 hours notice (01304 617308). Dinners for golfing groups of 16 or more can be arranged, but at least a month's notice is required.


Jeans and trainers are not to be worn either in the Clubhouse or on the Course.  Tailored shorts may be worn on the course with knee length stockings.

Adizero Golf Shoe

The Adizero golf shoe, manufactured by Adidas, features an aggressive cleat/stud which can do very noticeable damage to greens, particularly in damp conditions.  As a result, the Committee have taken the decision to ban the wearing of this shoe on the course until further notice. 



The use of mobile phones is confined to the car park.  They should not be used on the Course, in the Clubhouse or its surrounds.


The Club accepts no liability for the loss or damage to property while on the Club premises.  Visitors are advised to take out appropriate 3rd party liability insurance.
